IPAF Training is a requirement to ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, so anyone who operates a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWPs) – such as a cherry picker or scissor lift – requires a PAL Card and IPAF Licence that must be renewed every 5 years.
The internationally recognised IPAF training course is in place to provide delegates with an understanding of the need for accident prevention, safe operational procedures, emergency descent operations and gives an overview of the responsibilities of employers and employees. The IPAF course will also cover the main aims of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations.
The Powered Access Licence, also known as PAL Card, IPAF Card and IPAF Licence, is a handy credit-card-sized photo card which should be carried at all times whilst onsite, and only registered IPAF training centres, such as Boss Training, are able to deliver the accredited courses and issue official certificates and IPAF Cards.
“We regularly place staff and ex-offenders on IPAF and PASMA training courses with BOSS. Their instructors are able to empathise with delegates from diverse backgrounds in a non-discriminatory way. A number of ex-offenders have gone on to find work as a direct result of the training and support given by BOSS Training. We are happy to be associated in a working partnership with BOSS and endorse their services to other organisations.” – Debbie Clark – Yorkshire & Humber Probation Service
